Drug and Alcohol Policy

Purpose:
The purpose of this Drug and Alcohol Policy is to promote a safe and healthy work environment by minimizing the risks associated with substance abuse. This policy aims to ensure that all employees understand the expectations regarding the use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.

Scope:
This policy applies to all employees, contractors, and visitors at all work locations and during work-related events.

Policy Statements:
1. The use, possession, distribution, or sale of illegal drugs or controlled substances on company premises is strictly prohibited.
2. Employees must not report to work or perform work duties while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
3. The consumption of alcohol during work hours is not permitted unless specifically authorized for company events.
4. Prescription medications must be used in accordance with the instructions of a healthcare provider. Employees are responsible for ensuring that such medications do not impair their ability to perform their job duties safely.

Responsibilities:
1. Employees are responsible for adhering to this policy and for reporting any violations.
2. Supervisors and management are responsible for promoting a drug-free workplace and addressing any observed violations of this policy.

Compliance and Enforcement:
Failure to comply with this policy may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. The company reserves the right to conduct random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with applicable laws.

Support:
The company encourages employees to seek help for substance abuse issues. Resources and support programs are available to assist employees in overcoming such challenges.

Review:
This policy will be reviewed periodically and may be updated to ensure continued effectiveness and compliance with applicable laws. Employees will be informed of any changes to the policy.
